Judging time: 8:30am with Airedale Terriers in Ring 1 and Staffordshire Bull Terriers in Ring 2

My history with Staffordshire Bull terriers goes back to 1992, when after moving out of home for a few years I started looking at purchasing one, and later showing. Growing up our family always had a Corgi, my grandfather always had a Australian terrier, & I am looking forward to always having a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The showing interest came from watching dog shows at the local agricultural show, yes members of the public are interested in watching and selecting their breed. My mate`s grandfather George Young had some nice German Shepherds and a Doberman for his grandsons to handle, and seeing the awards for efforts was appealing. He also gave to the Gladstone Kennel Club building a facility that still operates today, and it was there I found myself as president for a term some years later in a time of need. Like most exhibitors I enjoyed the success and failures of dog showing and breeding that lead to judging, it is what forms us today.
Progressing to judging Group 2 Terriers came with support from a long term friend of mine and fellow judge Pieter Tjerkstra, many long term breed authoritarians, many smaller clubs, then the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of Qld and the Sporting Terrier Club of Qld appointing me to judge their Open Shows, which I acknowledge that without Clubs and mentors that continue to give in my life, I would have nothing to offer today. I look forward to expressing my interpretation of the breed standard, and sharing a enjoyable day with our common interest, your dogs.
