Sunday's weather conditions

CHANGES TO WORKSHOP 2 - 19 MARCH 2023 - PLEASE READ!!!
Current weather prediction for Sunday is 35 deg.
The workshop will start at 8.30am. Practical search exercises will be run in the morning till around 12.30pm. Searches will be inside and/or outside depending on weather conditions.
We will take a 2 hour break so that Canberra based people can drive their dogs home and settle them down.
We will reconvene at the GSD club around 2.30pm till 4.30/5pm for discussion, video review of the AM searches and Q&A.
Non-Canberra based people, your dogs will come into the air-conditioned clubhouse in the afternoon. Please bring a crate/mat/crate cover etc to create a safe comfortable spot for your dog to settle and relax beside you. There should be about 6-8 dogs in the clubhouse.
This means a slightly longer day, and a long lunch break for some, but the club house will be open.
Remember bring shade cloth, gazebos, cool coats/mats, towels, fans, crates etc to keep your dog cool during searches and while in the car in the morning. Spares if you have them to share. We plan to have extra crates/gazebos there to help out. Don’t forget your hat, sunscreen, plenty of water etc.
We hope this will provide a suitable and safe environment for dogs and people – but if we need to make further changes on the day, we will do so, so please be willing to be flexible.
Any questions?

Confirming plans for tomoro

WORKSHOP 2 PROBLEM SOLVING 1 PARTICIPANTS
We will start promptly at 8.30am tomoro. Pls review Jo Bates's handouts for tomoro for the concepts she will be covering. There will be a short intro and then we will start the search exercises.
We will stop at 12.30 (at the latest) so that the Canberra dogs can go home to sleep for the afternoon. There will be a 2 hr break.
It is going to be 37 tomoro - based on BOM, the heat starts to increase from around 1.30-2pm.
From 2.30, we will reconvene to discuss the morning topics, watch videos and for Q&A.
We have clams, spare gazebos, cool coats, crates, shade cloth and fans. There is room for 6-7 cars with dogs under the veranda of the club house (see photo - we'd started to pack up). Gazebos across the back of cars are also effective in minimising sun/heat.
Dogs that cannot go home will be able to come into the club house once searches have finished to relax in the cool (with care and consideration for all).
See you all tomorro
