INTRODUCTION

My name is Joao Machado, originally from Brazil and currently living in Houston, TX. I am graduated in Languages with a master’s degree in Business Administration. I have 27 years of experience in the areas related to negotiation, P & L, and management. Large involvement in empowering people to reach their full potential and developing working teams. I have been involved with purebred dogs for almost three decades, as a breeder, club officer and a judge, working so diligently to the preservation of the purebred breeds for generations to come.

I live in the Houston, Texas area with my wife, Kely, and my son Nicolas, where I work as the Vice President Sales & Marketing for an international logistics & supply chain firm. We currently share our home with a few Chihuahuas both coat varieties. I have competed in Conformation in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, and USA. I started out in conformation with my Yorkshire Terrier “Royal” who was the #1 male of his breed in Brazil in 1994. I have shared life with many breeds but most with Terriers and Toys.  Currently, he is the president of Houston Chihuahua Club for the second term in a row, vice president of the Toy Club of Greater Houston, AKC Delegate and JEd. Chair for the Chihuahua Club of America. Throughout the years as an active member, he has held many other positions such as president of the Santos Kennel Club and vice president of the Kennel Club Capixaba, both important local all breeds clubs in Brazil.
