BEGINNERS RATG TRAINING DAY FOR ALL GUNDOGS - Sat 02 Nov 2024

RATG Training Day
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for supporting our Training Day......I will be closing off on Monday 21st October, 2024.
Next week I will send out details of the day eg check in time, and how the day will run information.......but.....in the mean time, what would help you greatly is to read the RATG Rules

which can be found on the Dogs Australia website.....I will also have copies available on the day.
Things you will need to bring:
chair, gazebo (for shade or rain), leads, water bowl and if you have long line, whistle, dummies, dokkens and a smile.......a crate or peg to secure your dog (or you can put dog in your car)
Planning lunch will be around 12-12.30pm which will be provided and will be in the GSDL Building.......Teas and Coffee will be available all day

We have filled the training day......thank you......I have left the activity open, so I can do refunds if you can't attend, but you'll have to let me know.
Could you please send me a message via email or facebook messenger......with the breed of dog and age.....and what the level of training they have, just a couple sentences and importantly if your dog has a reliable recall

BEGINNERS RATG TRAINING DAY
Hi Everyone,
Here is a brief outline of how the day will run......it wont be like other training days recently held.....but purely for the beginner dog/handler interested in having a go a RATG (Retrieving Ability Training for Gundogs)......hopefully we give give you some knowledge and training techniques to then compete in this fun sport.
Ours trainers are:
Ray Temple, Angelika Goehring, Lynn Elliott, Jenny Pestidge and Brian MacKenzie teaching how to use the launcher.
The stations are:
Firing Line and pegs, dummies, rules - Angelika & Jenny
Launcher - Brian
When you get to Ray & Lynne- the group will split into half.
Ray will do retrieving, holding dummies etc.....................Lynn will cover the obedience........your group will rotate so you go to both trainers.
8am Check in for and 8.30 start..........should get 2 stations done before lunch........and the 3rd station after lunch
The dam/water is not included in this workshop........but can be used when finished.
I am still waiting on 6 replies to emails sent regarding the following information......handler name, dog breed, dog age, Training/or none, recall or none......I need this information in order to organise the groups......

Address: Bill Spilstead Complex For Canine Affairs, 44 Luddenham Road, Orchard Hills.......German Shepherd Dog League Building........Check in 8am ....Start 8.30am

What to Bring: Chair, water, water bowl, lead,lots of treats, hat, sunscreen, pack in wet weather gear just in case.
If you have whistle, long line, canvas dummies or dokkens bring them as well.......also anyone that has a gazebo bring it as a just in case for shade or rain, dog crate or peg to secure your dog or place your dog in your car, fan and silver sides if hot, towels if raining or you want to use the dam after the last session

On arrival you will be placed into your group.......you will rotate around the instructors......
Control point/firing line/pegs, rules & equipment..............Angelika & Jenny
Launcher - Brian
Retrieving & Obedience .........Ray & Lynn........when you get to this station your group will be split in half.........you will be rotating between the 2 instructors
Our plan is to have you compete 2 stations before lunch and the final station after lunch and the 3rd station after lunch.......lunch is included, we will have a variety of wraps, grazing platters and fruit platter, tea and coffee and bottled water
The approx times for the sessions will 8.30 - 10am........10 - 11.30am...........Lunch.........12.30 - 2pm

Hi Everyone,
Yes I'm bombarding you you emails ..........I'm assuming you received the detail about our training day..........if your not wanting to put your dogs in your car between sessions, if it is warm........there is plenty of shaded area on the GSDL Building Verandah and on the grass in front of the building where you can place a crate and a chair........and you can have a cuppa and biscuit.
